Level One
It takes a level of confidence that borders on arrogance to be a bounty hunter, and this class of warrior is known for treading that fine line. Whether in it for the money or overcome by an innate sense of justice, or merely for some deep-seated revenge, many bounty hunters begin their lives as warriors of a completely different caliber-rangers, specialists, gladiators…as such, bounty hunters may start with intermediate skill at one weapon.
Pre-Requisites for Lv.1 Bounty Hunter: None
Skills: intermediate [insert name of weapon here] + 2 other
Level Two
A fighter's skill is not enough for a bounty hunter to be successful though, and many bounty hunters will begin to study the skill of tracking at the second level. It may be enough to blindly chase after a petty crook, but for more skilled bounties (and higher paying bounties) a little finesse is required. Unless the bounty hunter wants to spend their life scraping for spare change, the recklessness of the first level will give way to a bit of careful consideration here.
Pre-requisites for Lv.2 Bounty Hunter: 100 posts and 3 months at game
Skills: 3
Level Three
The third level bounty hunter typically is passable at a minimum of one weapon and tracking. While this is sufficient for the level they are at, most bounty hunters will want to be skilled in multiple weapons and may pick up a second one here. Much of a bounty hunter's time is spent on the road, so once committed to the trade many will find themselves selling their homes for extra cash and truly taking the path of a true wanderer.
Pre-requisites for Lv.3 Bounty Hunter: 300 posts and 6 months at game
Skills: 3
Level Four
Tracking and fighting alone only gets you so far. A good number of fourth level bounty hunters will begin to study a few other avenues, like knot tying (if one too many has gotten away) or the art of laying traps. A bounty hunter's skills are often directly proportional to those they spend time around at this level. If time is spent with thieves the bounty hunter often knows how to pick locks, with clerics, herbal poultices that soothe aching muscles may become a specialty.
Pre-requisites for Lv.4 Bounty Hunter: 500 posts and 9 months at game
Skills: 3
Level Five
The fifth level bounty hunter is typically at least moderately skilled in at least two weapons, has the ability to track a target and set traps and is able to tie a knot that will hold their target hostage. While many bounties bear the words "dead or alive" it should be noted that bounty hunters are not by their nature killers. It's much more pleasant to travel with a live hostage than a decaying corpse-if only because the prior smells better and most bounty hunters will take their targets in alive when they can. Even so the fifth level bounty hunter is often considered adept at the art of homicide.
Pre-requisites for Lv.5 Bounty Hunter: 800 posts and 1 year at game
Skills: 2
Level Six
The sixth level bounty hunter has usually been working at his/her trade long enough that they have racked up a good number of informants and a few convenient favors. While by no means wealthy they often have a tavern here or there that is willing to let them stay for a night or two free of charge because the presence of such a renowned hunter dissuades some of the usual petty crime and barroom brawls that can be such a nuisance for the proprietor of such an establishment.
Pre-requisites for Lv.6 Bounty Hunter: 1200 posts and 1.5 years at game
Skills: 2
Level Seven
The seventh level bounty hunter is usually renowned in at least three countries. Having done so much traveling by now that their name has gotten around-for better or worse-a bounty hunter of this level often uses aliases because when people hear their name the criminals they're after disappear before they have the chance to even ask if anyone has seen them. Bastards.
Pre-requisites for Lv.7 Bounty Hunter: 1600 posts and 2 years at game
Skills: 2
Level Eight
Known for capturing criminals with both speed and skill, adept at three or more weapons, excellent horsemen and trappers, the eighth level bounty hunter doesn't waste time with 'small fries' as a general rule. Each and every target the bounty hunter of this level tracks is worth a small fortune-of course, it costs a small fortune to get informants to talk on such scary guys too.
Pre-requisites for Lv.8 Bounty Hunter: 2100 posts and 3 years at game
Skills: 1
Level Nine
After many years of just struggling by, the ninth level bounty hunter is finally financially stable, but has spent so many years on the road it may be impossible for them to ever settle down. Having accumulated a number of varied skills the level 9 bounty hunter tends to be one of Edarin's more eclectic and unpredictable warriors-and that lack of predictability is what makes him/her so dangerous.
Pre-requisites for Lv.9 Bounty Hunter: 3000 posts and 4 years at game
