A good deal of what makes an adventure an adventure are the non-playable characters (NPCs) we meet along the way. Ogres, bridge trolls, dragons...all these creatures lend to the atmosphere of your story. Below, you will find a list of many different types of creatures to choose from in framing your adventure. After all, what's a hero without a few good enemies. Please adhere to any rules listed. Some of the creatures herein are only for use among high level characters. The majority, however, may be used freely.

As Edarin is a world of many types of creatures, the bestiary is divided into three distinct categories, and alphabetized within each category for easy reference. The categories are as follows:

Beasts: Non-sentient or mostly non-sentient life forms, beasts are animalistic creatures with varying degrees of obedience and are incapable of logical thought. They do not tend to purposely endanger or harm sentient beings, but are dangerous when provoked or otherwise forced into violence. Many beasts are prone to naturally violent tendencies.

Sentients: Monsters and all other non-mystical sentient beings, these races are most commonly bipedal and possess varying degrees of intelligence. This category encompasses all non-magical, intelligent life. Please note that while this category also includes all of Edarin's playable races, these will not be listed here, see [RACES] for further details.

Stryfe: Highly intelligent and often mystical in nature, the stryfe are servants of Sorth, god of Darkness. They are envious of the freedom of both sentients and beasts alike, but especially detest sentients for having the intelligence to appreciate their freedom and taking it for granted. As such, they will take every opportunity presented to them to cause a sentient being misery, discord, and/or death.
